Recycling is an area where jobs could be created at low cost.

Municipal corporation Chhindwara came into being as Corporation on 05-Sep-2014. It has total 48 wards and total area 11072.231 hectares. Its total population is 2,15,843. Since beginning Chhindwara has been a clean and planned city. It has lot of Green belt and many tourist places like Dharamtekdi, Bhartadev, Karaboh dam and Badal BhoiAdiwasi etc.

Fusion Waste Management and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. Has been associated with Chhindwara Municipal Corporation (CMC) in February 2021 for Providing Technical Assistance for Solid Waste Management and Carrying out IEC Activities. We are doing IEC/BCC activities for CMC targeting each and every resident of Chhindwara for awareness creation, sensitization and behaviour change. We are also providing technical support for Swachh Bharat Mission and committed to improve rank of Chhindwara in Swachh Survekshan 2022.

Waste does not exist in nature because ecosystems reuse everything that grows in a never-ending cycle of efficiency and purpose.

In the past, waste disposal in Chhindwara presented a significant hurdle. Two designated areas, namely Jamunjhiri village (covering 3.5 acres) and Sonpur Road (spanning 3 acres), were used as dumping grounds. Over time, the accumulated waste reached a staggering 1.81 lakh metric tonnes. However, through the diligent application of biomining techniques, a sustainable solution was achieved. Notably, the remediation efforts resulted in the reclamation of 100% of the land at both sites “Recycling old buildings to show art is very important.From Waste to Wonder: Chhindwara's Journey towards Environmental Excellence!”

Prior to 2019, waste disposal in Chhindwara relied on the utilization of approximately 3.5 acres of land in Jamunjhiri village. Over time, a significant amount of waste, approximately 1.81 lakh metric tonnes, had accumulated in that area. However, the municipality took proactive measures to address this issue through a remediation process known as biomining. Through the implementation of biomining, the accumulated waste in Jamunjhiri was efficiently treated and reclaimed. This process involves the use of specialized techniques to extract valuable materials and resources from the waste, while also minimizing the environmental impact. As a result, the entire 3.5-acre land area at Jamunjhiri was successfully reclaimed. The reclaimed land at Jamunjhiri has undergone a transformation, and it is now utilized for various purposes aligned with sustainable waste management practices. It serves as a site for setting up important processing plants, including a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), where recyclable materials are sorted and recovered. Additionally, a Compost Unit is established to convert organic waste into nutrient-rich compost, which can be utilized for soil enrichment and agricultural purposes. The land reclaimed at Jamunjhiri has become a hub of sustainable waste management infrastructure, contributing to the municipality’s efforts in building a greener and cleaner Chhindwara. “Chhindwara: Leading the Way Towards a Waste-Free Future!”
